Ebrahim Irajzad’s ‘Hot Summer’ has raked in 13 nominations in various categories of the 35th edition of the Fajr Film Festival.
The organizers announced on Tuesday that the director’s debut film on domestic issues received nominations for best film and best director.
The film is about Nasrin (Parinaz Izadyar) whose domestic life is suffering miseries. She knows that she cannot get custody of her daughter in case of divorce. So she covertly takes her to live in an unknown location somewhere in Tehran. However, her husband finds them.
The movie written by Payam Karami also received a nomination for Best Screenplay Crystal Simorgh.
Starring Saber Abar and Ali Mosaffa, the movie has brought a nomination to Mosaffa for Best Actor Crystal Simorgh.
‘Hot Summer’’s acteess, Izadyar, is also nominated for a Crystal Simorgh at Fajr Festival for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
Established in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.
Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.
The winners of this edition of the event will be announced during the closing ceremony at Tehran’s Milad Tower on February 9.
